Throughout the Year

**Take Honors or Dual Credit Courses if eligible.
**Visit your top college choices.
**Visit with college admissions reps that visit AC.
**Search for scholarships.
**Attend a financial aid Program to learn how to pay for college.
**Continue getting involved, staying involved, and assuming leadership roles.
**Continue updating your resume.
In the Fall
**Connect with Miss Fisher to develop a plan of action. Finalize your college list, determine which scholarships you're applying to, and be on top of your deadlines.
**Begin the FAFSA on or after October 1. Create an FSA ID for you and a parent.
**Work on your personal statement (essays).
**Ask teachers for letters of recommendation.
In the Winter
**Watch for acceptance letters from the colleges you applied to.
**This is the last chance to take the ACT.
**Finish filling out FAFSA and other financial aid documents. Be prepared for verification. The college(s) may request documents to verify your FAFSA information.
**Expect financial aid award notifications from the college(s) you listed on the FAFSA.
In the Spring
**Compare financial aid award notifications to see which college offers the best award package.
**Continue applying for scholarships.
**Make your final college decision early and notify the other schools.
**Submit your housing deposit before the deadline.
In the Summer
**Attend new-student orientation at your college.
**Apply for student loans, if needed. Your college will tell you how to apply.
